Trafalgar Square

This is another one of Grandpa Wheal's paintings. It's a scene of Trafalgar Square in London, which was built in the 1830s to commemorate the British navy’s victory at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. The church of St. Martin's in the Fields is at the center and, to the right, the 185 foot tall column with the statue of Viscount Horatio Nelson (who died during the battle) on top. Below is the square as it looks today:
